Love and Love Alone
It's not the view of the Olympic Mountains
It's not the grove of hundred year old trees
It's not the bridge of split cedar leading down to the water
Or the sun on the sandy beach
Not the eagles, or the hawks or the herons
Not the whales, or the seals, or the deer
It's not the stream that meanders through the bent grass land or
The way the colors change all year
What makes this place a beauty, what makes this house a home
What gives it life is truly love and love alone
The house is a living, breathing work of art
The cabin's got a good life, too
Yet all the special touches wouldn't mean so very much if
I felt I wasn't touching you
God help us not to take it all for granted
God help so we always see
The wonder of this place and in the other person's face
Every day make a new discovery
What makes this place a beauty, what makes this house a home
What gives it life is truly love and love alone
There were times when we had next to nothing
Here's something to remember now
Then we had one another and because we had each other
We had what we needed somehow
What makes a place a beauty, what makes a house a home
What gives it life is truly love and love alone
